Designer's Notes

The Classic Man Capsule is an example of a custom capsule wardrobe we designed for our client Mike Banks from Phoenix AZ.

Phoenix is one of the hottest cities in America, but Mike has a classic, East Coast sense of style—think suits, tailored jackets, and high-waisted trousers. So, the challenge was clear: how do we give him the texture and elegance of traditional winter garments while making sure everything is breathable and comfortable enough for Arizona?

Additionally, Mike had a specific goal in mind with this capsule: to boost the formal options in his wardrobe. He needed something for an upcoming black-tie event and he wanted those pieces to integrate seamlessly with the rest of the capsule, so he could create a wide range of outfits for "formal", "Holiday" and "semi-formal" occasions.

So in addition to "classic Fall/Winter for a hot climate" this capsule is also about providing "levels of formality."

This capsule includes 14 items that can be mixed-and-matched to create at least 50+ different outfits (see the image gallery for some of the outfits we were able to photograph).

The 14 Items

  • Super 180s Flannel & Silk Suit
  • Summer Tweed Herringbone Jacket
  • Bengal Stripe Shirt
  • Johnny Fine Merino Long-Sleeve Polo
  • Velvet Jacket
  • Crossover Shirt
  • Classic Tuxedo Trouser
  • Classic Formal Cummerbund
  • Classic Formal Bowtie

A Smarter Way to Dress. A Better Way to Live.

Articles of Style is not a regular clothing store. We are one-on-one service to build your wardrobe from the ground up - with expert stylists, tailors, and designers working together to create a wardrobe that fits your unique body, lifestyle, and goals.

We create bespoke capsule wardrobes: 8–12 custom garments (anything from t-shirts to suits, depending on your needs) that mix and match into 15–20 complete outfits. Every piece is designed to work together seamlessly, so getting dressed becomes effortless - you always look sharp, confident, and completely put together.

You’ll receive a personalized wardrobe plan tailored to your lifestyle, career, and personal brand. Every fabric, color, and design detail is selected with purpose - so your clothes not only fit perfectly, but also make sense for your life. Every garment is handmade in our tailor shop using world-class fabrics from Loro Piana, Dormeuil, Zegna, and more.

Without a strategy, most people waste time and money on clothes that are cheaply made, don’t fit, don’t coordinate, and don’t get worn. A scattered closet leads to bad outfits, missed impressions, and daily stress. We help you avoid all that - by giving you a wardrobe that just works.

“I feel confident, prepared and get compliments daily. I could never put this together myself.
