The Laidback Elegance Capsule Wardrobe: A Smart, Seasonal Edit

Building a capsule wardrobe isn’t just about owning great clothes—it’s about creating a system where everything works together effortlessly. For Phillip Wadle, a hospital strategy executive in Brooklyn, the goal was to craft a wardrobe that balanced professionalism with business casual, while also complementing his fair skin and red hair.

The result? The Laidback Elegance Capsule—a collection of rich, earthy tones and textured fabrics that transition seamlessly from boardroom to after-hours.

The Foundation: Suits & Jackets That Fit Right

Phillip’s biggest style challenge? Square shoulders—which meant most off-the-rack jackets never fit quite right. Custom tailoring changed that. His capsule started with:

✔ A forest green corduroy three-piece suit—the statement piece, blending texture and versatility.
✔ A stretch gray wool suit—a relaxed yet refined essential.
✔ A Harris Tweed sport coat—a timeless, patterned layer for effortless mixing.
✔ A herringbone overcoat in camel—a polished outer layer that works over everything.

A rack displaying a variety of colorful jackets and coats.

The Versatile Core: Shirts, Knits & Trousers

To balance formality, we expanded with elevated staples:

✔ Three shirts—a crisp Bengal stripe, a classic Oxford, and a casual plaid flannel.
✔ A cashmere crewneck & a chunky orange cardigan—layering essentials.
✔ A long-sleeve polo—smart, but easygoing.
✔ Denim trousers (with no belt loops!)—a sleek alternative to jeans.

Seamless Fit, Effortless Style

The virtual fitting process was smooth—Phillip followed the step-by-step guide, and the first round of garments fit perfectly. The best part? Every piece mixes and matches,  making getting dressed zero effort.

"I can wake up, grab any pant, any jacket, and it all just works together."

Now, Phillip has a wardrobe that moves with his lifestyle—from work to weekends, meetings to nights out.
