How a Suit Should Fit

In this video I review the final fit of customer Alex Kosene's Signature Scabal 4-Season Suit in Navy (part of his Timeless Gentleman Capsule).

Below the video you will also find his original fitting photos (wearing his AOS fitting garments) along with some notes describing the fit adjustments we made for the final garments.

Watch it here:

ALEX'S FITTING JACKET

Discover the essential guide to achieving the perfect suit fit. From shoulders to trousers, learn the tailoring tips to elevate your style and ensure a sharp, sophisticated look

Alex's fitting jacket already fit quite well.

The main adjustments we did were sloping the shoulders (to clean up the "crahing" at the sides of his midsection) especially on the right side, as he is lower on the right. This also cleans up the sleeve heads (see dimples at shulders on profile views).

We also lowered the back collar, shorteneed the sleeves, took in the front chest and tapered. the hips.

ALEX'S FITTING TROUSER

Alex's fitting trouser needed more work than his fitting jacket.

He has an "atheltic seat", so we needed to give him more overall room in the hips, shorten the front rise, lengthen the back rise and deepen the crotch curve (to alleviate the "wedgie" and make the final trouser more comfortbale with a better drape).

We also made the final trouser fuller, as he thought the fitting trouser was a little too slim/young/Euro looking (I agreed).

Lastly, we lengthen the inseam slightly (which we typically do when we make the pant fuller).

ALEX'S FITTING VEST

Alex's fitting vest was pretty good, but looked and felt a bit "boxy".

As with the jacket, we sloped the shoulders and took in the front chest.

We also lowered the button stance to give it a deeper "V" shape to accentuate his physique.
