Custom Tailoring for a Feminine Fit: Ines Martina’s Capsule Wardrobe Review

When we talk about custom tailoring, we often focus on the fit, the fabrics, the finish. But at Articles of Style, we’re just as interested in how clothing makes you feel.

And for Ines Martina, that meant finding clothes that were not only tailored to her proportions—but also true to her personality.

“I have a very narrow waist and a bigger butt,” she shared. “I’m a size 24, but there’s usually extra fabric in the back of my waistband.”

She’s tried a million different brands—nothing fits quite right.

That’s where custom comes in. We started with a conversation about fit—particularly pants—and built a capsule that flatters her shape without compromising her sense of style.

We landed on a warm, versatile color palette—lots of browns, camels, olives, and cream tones. “Brown is one of my favorite colors,” she told us. “So anything that works with brown is a win for me.”

That direction gave us room to play—rich corduroy, soft cashmere, structured cotton twill—textures that add depth while staying neutral enough to mix and match.

I felt very sexy in the corduroy suit,” she shared. “I’m wearing it to the screening of our movie tomorrow. But I could wear it out to dinner with my husband. Or out with my friends..”

“A lot of custom tailors tend to lean masculine,” Dan explains. “Our job was to take those classic menswear fabrics and give them shape, softness, and strength—in a way that fits her.”

One standout piece? A hand-tailored olive cashmere coat that hits that perfect balance of utility and polish.

“I love that one,” Ines said. “It feels like me.”
