What I Wore Today

Rule #1 of Articles of Style: bring your “A Game” every day!

Use the comments section below to tell us who’s style you’re appreciating today.

Going with my uniform lately: unstructured suit in an earthy color, contrast waistcoat with some pattern, open collar (only if it stands properly), and a freshly shined pair of loafers.

Alex is getting his Hollywood Art Director on today; black lightweight mohair suit, Italian knit sweater, homemade band collar shirt, vintage shades, and some huarache slip-ons.

    Alejandro Rodriguez

Our friend Alejandro is all about blending cultures, finding perfectly broken-in vintage goods, and layering his designer pieces that are all handmade in Los Angeles. Today he gives us another take on the tailored tunic.

    Jason Andrew

Jason Andrew is one of the best-dressed New Yorkers we’ve ever featured. He’s taking a page out of the Ralph Lauren handbook for a hot summer day on the East Coast complete with a summer tweed jacket, slim vintage belt, and straw pinch-crown panama hat.

    • Hat by Flamekeepers Hat Club
    • Summer tweed jacket by Ralph Lauren
    • Madras shirt by Ralph Lauren
    • Watch by Raymond Weil
    • Repaired short by Ralph Lauren
    • Suede bucks by Ralph Lauren

    Thanks, as always, for reading.

    Yours in style,

Gotta say I’m not a huge fan of any of these outfits. However, I think they all do look good and are very distinctive as well. They will all stand out in a crowd as looking great and feeling good. I’d say that is definitely the point of menswear. I vote for Jason & Alejandro here.

    • AdamE

Alex for the win, but good looks all around. I get that Jason’s look is a bit busy, but I actually the like the fact that he has fun with the look, but still nails the fit details…

    • Alex Trambitas

That’s fantastic. Really bold. Now I want to see the full ensemble even more. Thank you for digging that up.

    • Ali Naaseh

Jason looks like he sneezed while painting easter eggs. Too much going on.

That being said, Dan wins and Alex gets second.

    • TO

Dan gets my vote. NICE WORK Angel that suit looks truly amazing- love the ‘uniform’.

    • Miguel

I’m going to Dan, the dark brown suit along with the waistcoat is on point.

Really liking Alex’s outfit, he’s got my vote. The whole light knit sweater and suit combo gives off such a cool vibe. Also Dan’s loafers are killer

    • Dave Coakley

Jason looks ridiculously cool and stylish.

      A vote for Jason here.

When I saw Dan’s picture, I thought it’d be an easy win. But then I saw Alex’s outfit, which I like even more. He just looks so cool.

Jason Andrew looks cool, but between the multiple bracelets, the patches on the shorts, the glen-plaid jacket, the hat, the pocket square, the pinky ring, the necklace, and the shades, there’s too much going on for my taste.

Alejandro Rodriguez’s look is too hypebeast for my taste – chelsea boots? Check. Stacked distressed jeans? Check. Reverse layering? Check. Rare hemline? Check.

      • TO

If it’s hypebeast or not, it’s really well executed. From the fitted shades to the beautifully made coaches jacket; the slimness of the reverse-layered tunic,
to the monochromatic theme (broken up by the faded jeans) makes this look very stylish to me- even though I would probably never wear a reverse layer myself.

I like Alex’s choices but Jason’s outfit is just pure fun.

Normally I can’t stand shorts with a sport coat but Jason makes it work.

      Alex! Killing it.

    • Alex Trambitas

Dan whenever you wear that waistcoat it’s
always tagged as part of a suit… was it an odd vest with a suit or do you
have any pics with the full suit in that pattern? Not sure I’ve seen the full
suit for the vest in any pictures.
