WIWT: Early Spring East/West

March 25th, 2015

Rule #1 of Articles of Style: bring your “A Game” every day!

The “What I Wore Today” series is about real guys, in their real clothes. This week we bring you the OG Wes Dimagiba, mr. tailored separates Khaled Nasr and the one and only Mr. Alan Flusser.

Use the comments section below to tell us who’s style you’re appreciating today.

Wes has been about his business lately, as shown here breaking out his inner Wall Street.

Today it’s early Spring layering that can take me from day to night: cotton/linen cardigan, band collar shirt, flannel herringbone waistcoat, black mohair trouser, and sleek black loafers.

As I mentioned last week, Khaled’s closet is filled with cut-to-the-bone tailored pieces, in just about every color or shade you could want.

Today, it’s an emerald green jacket with an eggplant trouser.

Alan mentioned in his profile that he doesn’t always wear suits and ties. He talked a lot about his range of styles – even nike sweatpants and puma sneakers on off-days. Here he shows us one of his country casual looks.

Also to note: the velvet jacket on the rack above is custom made for his daughter, the first of his women’s bespoke clients…

Love Dan and Wes’ look. Dan, I see you have your second button undone as well and it looks perfect with your look. I wouldlove to pull that off but never know when I am crossing into douchebag territory and just missing the gold chains and chest hair comb.

    • AdamE

Late to the party, but Wes by a landslide… Dan and Khaled are on point, and Alan is doing Alan…. but I was ready to vote for Wes before I even saw the other looks… just nailed it with that one

    • Sean

I don’t know what you guys are talking about, Khaled absolutely nailed it! He looks old-world sophisticated, and pulls off a rarely-used color combination, as that shade of green and the more-subtle-than-you’d-think eggplant play off beautifully together! And definitely props to Wes’ look, DB’s can look downright balling like that when the sides slope in to create that streamlined V silhouette, instead of the boxy territory that DB’s sadly often fall into…

It’s gonna be between Wes or Dan for me. It’s a tough call because A. Everyone here is on their A-game and B. I like the way Wes looks so sharply dressed and how Dan looks so tailored dressed down. I would have to give it to Wes since he’s left Instagram for a while and been about his business. THAT’S strong will and he’s about his paper!

I’ll be back on there soon bro hah

    • David

Wes gets my vote today. I’m a sucker for pinstripe Double breasted suits.

    • Thomas Gabia

I go with Wes, but also loving Khaled’s color choices.

    • ChrisD

Can’t deny he always looks sharp, but does Khaled’s huge closet include a gym and strict diet? Because if that dude ever gains a few pound he’ll bust through all his several thousand dollar jackets.
A vote for Dan here, his combinations always give me ideas to try and that white band collar shirt looks amazing.

    • Esosa

I have to go with Wes! That is a power look right there! Khaleds Jacket is a little too tight for my tastes…the pulling everywhere just detracts from an otherwise beautifully made Jacket…oh well, to each his own..

      Alan. Just because he’s Alan.

      • http://tsbmen.com/ Alex Crawford

I’m with you on that vote.

    • Miguel

I’m going with Dan on this one, smooth operator, excellent layering sir.

    • Herbert Morrison

Wow wow wow, shottaz! Khaled, Dan and Wes for a tree way tie today. Strong Work.

    • JoeFromTexas

Wes wins this one, he looks like a million bucks. If Wes came up to me and said “Let me handle your money and investments, I know what I’m doing”, I’d run to the local bank, empty my savings and put the twenty three dollars and seventy two cents right in his hand and say “Have at it, I trust you”.

      • Jeanscuffed

Joe im CRYING laughing @ $23.72!!

        • JoeFromTexas

You know me, I’m here to make you cry.

    • Eric

I think Khaled’s jacket is a testament to the quality of Sciamat…it looks to my eye far too small, yet looks perfect in all other facets…love that color, and the subtle, yet awesome slanted patch pockets.

Dan, how are those A&S monk straps holding up?

    • Bryan S

Going with Dan today, easy and cool. Although, I’m pretty sure Wes just got through with a hostle takeover.

    • tommyjohn_45

Solid range of style showcased today. Have to agree with Cam, Khaled’s blazer seems a little too snug in the mid-section (perhaps he packed on a little off season muscle ;D )… I do like the green though.

Wes, sharp AF – can’t say anything more.

Alan, as usual, showing a great example of true personal style, breaking all the right rules.

My vote goes to Dan though. Mostly because it’s the look, I myself, could pull off the easiest of the bunch. Always a big fan of the casually tailored look that is both seemingly effortless, yet so well put together. Cheers.

i have to give it to dan today. i typically love everything khaled does but that jacket seems extremely too small through the waist and not my favorite color palette ive seen. wes definitely nails the wolf of wall street look and alan has me thinking about moving to more fuller and relaxed cuts. and dont forget alex with the great photography per usual.

      • Daniel

Agreed, that jacket veers into parody territory. While I get that he admires the trim look, this is taking it to an extreme. The pants are too tight too, no? They look strained even when he’s in a fairly neutral stance. I like the color combination, though!
